5 tips for a happy and healthy mind

What keeps you busy? What kind of information do you like to fill your mind with? Do you find yourself constantly embroiled in controversies or gossips? Are you a people pleaser to an extent that others opinion mean more to you than yours? Or do you find yourself saying yes to things or people which you know for sure you don’t want to!

We are heavily influenced by the people you surround ourselves with on a regular basis. In fact, we even pick up behaviors, mannerisms, opinions, beliefs and oodles of other information that your brain unconsciously absorbs, resulting in similar behaviors.

 

If you want to make a change, grow or break a habit or routine, look to your environment – the people around you, where you work, what you read and how you speak to yourself. All have significant influences on what you are internalizing, and have an impact on how you live your life. Here are five tips on keeping a healthy mind to help you on your way!

We read about the profound effects that meditation has on our mind, but how many of us actually take benefit from it? Benefits of meditation is boundless.  When you meditate, you are giving your mind time to clear, reformat itself for all the new information that is going to be taken in the following day, or day ahead.

 

  1. Mindfulness

 

In this busy world our mind is often filled with thoughts of the past or future. In a constant need to multitask we often find ourselves losing your connection with the present moment—missing out on what we’re doing and how we’re feeling. Mindfulness is the practice of purposely focusing your attention on the present moment—and accepting it without judgment. It is an incredible tool to help people understand, tolerate, and deal with their emotions in healthy ways.

  1. Surround yourself with positivity

In our everyday life we are surrounded by a variety of people. Some of the people we deal with on a daily basis are a joy to be with, and their loving presence nurtures and encourages us. Others may have the opposite effect: draining us of our energy, making us feel tired and exhausted through constant emotional bullying and manipulation. We must refuse to allow ourselves to be treated poorly. Our well-being is definitely easily influenced by those around us. Don’t be afraid to let go if and instead surround ourselves with people who helps us grow and has a positive effect on us.

  1.  Eat healthy

 

We are after all what we eat. Eating healthy and staying hydrated are really important for brain function. By not being watchful of what we eat not only damages us physically but mentally too.  

  1.  Spend your time doing something you LOVE!

The most important thing of all is to ensure you spend time doing a hobby or activity you love. When we participate in doing something we love, we radiate so many positive emotions, all magnetizing out into the universe to bring you back more joy and happiness. So many people get stuck in a rut and lose focus on what is important and brings them pleasure. Find something you love to do, and do it daily. Make time for it, and even better, make a career out of it!
